The objective of the Labour Card Scholarship
The primary goal of this scholarship is to give Indian children of unorganized sector workers financial support. Anyone who wants to continue their education beyond high school but is unable to do so due to financial constraints is eligible to apply for this scholarship program. The education rate among Indian pupils who are economically disadvantaged would rise thanks to this program. Any kid whose family makes less than INR 10,000 per month is eligible to participate in this program. Financial Assistance for Education to the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers – Pre-Matric and Post-Matric
For the pre- and post-matriculated education of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers’ wards, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has begun providing financial aid. to support the children of the following mines: Beedi/Iron Ore Mines, Manganese Ore & Chrome Ore Mines (IOMC)/Limestone Mines, Dolomite Mines (LSDM)/Mica Mines, and Cine Workers. Under this initiative, students will receive between INR 1000 to INR 25000. The beneficiaries’ bank accounts will receive direct transfers of the financial aid and other program components using the Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) method. These are the different types of this scheme:
- Scheme for the award of monetary help for schooling (scholarship) to the kids of Beedi employees.
- Scheme for an award of monetary assistance for education (scholarship) to the kids of iron ore, manganese ore & chrome ore mine (iomc) employees.
- Scheme for award of economic assistance for education (scholarship) to the children of limestone & dolomite mine (lsdm) people.
- Scheme for award of financial help for training (scholarship) to the kids of cine people.
Eligibility Criteria: Labour Card Scholarship Last Date
- For the student to be eligible for the Labour Card Scholarship, their parent must be a registered construction worker with the Karnataka government’s Labour Welfare Board.
- Furthermore, the parent of the student needs to possess a labor card that was granted by the Karnataka government’s Labour Welfare Board.
- The Labour Welfare Board has released a press release stating that the parents’ monthly income should be at least Rs. 35,000.
- Students must have received at least 50% for General category students and 45% for SC/ST students in their previous exam to be eligible for the award.
